Description
Oxford Medical Products (OMP) is an SME that has designed and developed a novel weight loss device (Sirona). Early-phase clinical trials have demonstrated excellent safety, as well as reduced energy intake and strong early weight loss. An existing collaboration between the University of Bristol and OMP has involved novel methods of data capture by exploring the impact of Sirona on appetite using ecological momentary assessment. This flexible mobility award would help enable an Early Career Researcher (ECR) to gain experience, training, and exposure to new ways of working in a fast-paced industry environment. In particular, the applicant will gain regulatory experience and provide support with manufacturing processes and contribute to the quality control processes. Overall, this placement will provide the opportunity for the ECR to learn skills outside their usual remit (psychology) within an innovative company that is developing a drug-free and injection-free treatment for obesity.
