We want to share with you some exciting news from Consumer Lab!
Our team participated in The Early Career Researcher (ECR) Event at Cambridge as part of The British Feeding and Drinking Group (BFDG) Annual Meeting in 2024.
This event was funded by Consumer Lab and brought together academic and industry experts from various fields, including psychology, physiology, medicine, nutrition, and food science. The discussions covered a range of fundamental topics and provided opportunities for participants to share experiences, learn from experts, and explore career paths.
The event was productive and helpful for Early Career Researchers. Our Academic lead, Prof. Jeff Brunstrom, and Dr Dave Mela, members of the Consumer Lab Executive Committee, were guest speakers and participated in group and panel discussions. The Advisory Panel, which meets quarterly to steer the scientific direction of the hub and review the strategic allocation of the Impact Account funds, also had a meeting where our plan for 2024 was revised and future actions were discussed.
The Executive Committee expressed enthusiasm and positivity about the event and the Advisory Panel meeting outcomes. We believe that events like this are crucial in building cross-sector collaborative networks to improve the UK’s capacity and capability and deliver world-class innovation around diet and health to the Consumer Lab.
